East Bengal FC have announced the signing of Goa Pro League and Salgaocar FC star striker Ronaldo Oliveira on a three-year-deal for the upcoming I-League season.
The 23-year-old came up the ranks at Salgaocar and made a big impression in last year’s AWES Cup when Salgaocar FC pulled off a surprise win over FC Pune City. In the 2018-19 Goa Pro League, he scored 18 goals, while his strike partner in crime Devendra Murgaonkar scored 20.
The pair were in astonishing form last season reading each other’s game very well. Although Salgaocar finished fourth in the league, they ended up scoring the highest goals in the division – 70.

Ronaldo impressed head coach Alejandro Menéndez after undergoing a trial with East Bengal recently and is widely expected to don the No.7 jersey like his namesake and replace Joby Justin who moved to the ISL side, ATK.
