23-man Indian squad finalised for King’s Cup 2019

Coach Igor Štimac announced the final list of 23 players who will be participating in the King’s Cup, Thailand, which will commence on the 5th of June. 

Here’s the squad list:

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amrinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh.

Defenders: Pritam Kotal, Rahul Bheke, Sandesh Jhingan, Adil Khan, Subhasish Bose.

Midfielders: Udanta Singh, Jackichand Singh, Brandon Fernandes, Anirudh Thapa, Raynier Fernandes, Pronay Halder, Vinit Rai, Sahal Abdul, Amarjit Singh, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Michael Soosairaj.

Forwards: Balwant Singh, Sunil Chhetri, Farukh Choudhary, Manvir Singh.

Out of the original 37-man probables camp, Nishu Kumar and Jobby Justin were the last of the players to be released. The other players released were Narayan Das, Salam Ranjan Singh, Dhanpal Ganesh, Rowllin Borges, Komal Thatal, Anwar Ali (injury), Vishal Kaith, Germanpreet Singh, Nandha Kumar, Redeem Tlang, Bikramjit Singh and Sumeet Passi.

India are placed at 101 in the latest FIFA rankings and start their King’s Cup campaign against Curaçao who are ranked 82nd. The match is scheduled at 2PM on June 5th and will be broadcast/streamed live on Star Sports 3/Hotstar.
