UPDATES
The league resumed on the 17th of March after a break of two months due to the Santosh Trophy camp. Kozhikode Quartz who haven’t yet played a game this season withdrew from the tournament and the North Malabarian club Shooters United took their place in Group B.
SBI Kerala who are in Group A and have already played four games withdrew from the tournament. There are unconfirmed reports that the Indian Navy team in Group A is planning to withdraw as well. The Navy team has not played a fixture in the KPL so far.
Here’s a look at the results after the resumption of the Kerala Premier League 2018-19.
SBI Kerala vs FC Thrissur
19 March 2019, Thiruvanathapuram, Group A: SBI Kerala vs FC Thrissur
The fixture was not played as SBI Kerala have withdrawn from the tournament.
FC Kochi go top of Group A
19 March 2019, Kochi, Group A: RFC Kochi 1-0 Sports Academy Tirur
FC Kochi went on top of Group A with a win over a strong SAT Tirur team.
The Nigerian Rooney Youseff scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute to give the home team the lead and the win.
Shooters United on target against Kovalam FC
17 March 2019, Thiruvanathapuram, Group B: Kovalam FC 1-3 Shooters United Padane
The Kasargod-based Shooters United who are replacing Kozhikode Quartz got off to a winning start in the Kerala Premier League.
Shooters United scored three goals with one of the goals coming from an own goal. Kovalam FC lacked quality in the final third, but they did manage to get a consolation goal and registered their first goal in the league.
Kovalam FC have lost all three games they’ve played so far this season and are at the bottom of Group B.
Gokulam string their second win over Golden Threads
17 March 2019, Malappuram, Group B: Gokulam Kerala FC [R] 3-0 Golden Threads FC
Gokulam opened the scoring in the 28th minute courtesy Shihad and they took the solitary goal lead into the half-time break.
The home side would go on to score two more goals in the second half (75′, 80′) to seal all three points.

20 March 2019, Kozhikode, Group B: Gokulam Kerala FC [R] 2-1 FC Kerala
Gokulam picked up their third win in as many games with a win over FC Kerala. The Ghanian forward Christian Sabah got them into the lead in the 18th minute with a beautiful curler in the top left corner. Maya Kannan helped them double their lead as the I-League team went into the half-time break with a two goal lead.
FC Kerala pulled a goal back with the Nigerian forward Victor Philip getting on the score sheet in the 58th minute. However, they couldn’t muster a comeback as the game ended in favour of the home side.
Shooters United shred Golden Threads
20th March 2019, Ernakulam, Group B: Golden Threads FC 0-2 Shooters United Padane
First-time participants in the Kerala Premier League Shooters United picked up their second win in a row with a win over Golden Threads FC.
Nizamuddin and Muzammil were the goal scorers for the away side. With the win, Shooters United move into second place in Group B behind Gokulam Kerala FC.
