Carlos Santamarina appointed as Head Coach of Tata Football Academy (TFA)

Atlético Madrid youth coach Carlos Santamarina has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Tata Football Academy. Carlos comes with a lot of experience and has coached at U-15, U-14, U-13 and U-12 age categories. Prior to Atlético, he worked with the youth setup in SS Reyes, a Madrid-based club.

Carlos had this to say on his new role in the TFA setup:

I am excited to take over this new role. I am keen to provide the talented kids the best platform to nurture their interests and develop as footballers and human beings. I would also like to inculcate the mentality and the technical aspect of the strong youth system that Atletico de Madrid has been nurturing over the year.

Mukul Choudhari, the CEO of Jamshedpur FC said in a statement:

First, we would like to welcome Carlos to Jamshedpur. This is a just the beginning of the vision we have for Tata Football Academy and Atletico de Madrid’s partnership. A seasoned coach like Carlos, coming from Spain, will be the perfect catalyst for the TFA boys to take the next step.


There is no doubt that Carlos Santamarina comes with an abundance of experience in coaching from one of the leading nations in terms of football. The region of Jharkhand is also slowly getting it’s recognition as the hotbed for football in India and Carlos’s appointment can only make sure we move towards the right direction. I would like to congratulate him on his appointment and wish him the very best in all his future endeavors at the academy.
