–FC Goa have a chance to go top of the table when they take on a winless and bottom-placed FC Pune City at Fatorda. They will be supremely confident going into this tie after handing out a 5-0 drubbing to Mumbai City FC last Wednesday at home. Miguel Palanca will be hoping to start after scoring a brace minutes after he came on as a sub in the second half.
–FC Pune City have a gigantic mountain to climb to get a result out of this game. A managerial change – Pradhyum Reddy has replaced Miguel Portugal at the helm. FC Pune haven’t won a game this season and in their last game against Bengaluru FC at home they conceded three goals. And they haven’t been scoring either managing a solitary goal in their opening game. FC Pune City will desperately need Diego Carlos, Emiliano Alfaro and Marcelinho to be among the goals. Pune City did beat FC Goa at home last season, so there just might be a glimmer of hope.

-FC Goa were rampant in the first half. Coro scored two and assisted two goals. He was so rampant he could’ve had a couple more. Ahmed Jahouh dominated the midfield and strung everything together for FC Goa. Jackichand looked bright and effervescent on the wings and got a goal for himself as well.
-FC Pune City for a while looked like they could keep up with Goa. Marcelinho scored a half dink-half shot goal over FC Goa keeper Mohammad Nawaz to equalize in the eighth minute after Goa opened their scoring in the fifth minute. Alfaro scored the second goal when Goa were leading 3-1 to make it 3-2. But a fourth goal by Coro in the 35th minute established a two goal lead for Goa again.
-Pune did have a chance to make a comeback when they were trailing by four goals to two in the second half. A penalty was awarded to FC Pune City in the 53rd minute, but Alfaro’s shot was saved by Nawaz. This was their way back into the game because if they had scored, it would’ve been 4-3 with almost an entire half of football to go.
-TWO RED CARDS: The referee made the correct call in sending off Alfaro and Coro in separate incidents. They both made high-footed studs up challenges and were promptly shown the red card. The referee showed gumption to show two red cards considering previously in the tournament, referees were letting these sort of dangerous tackles go.
-An undefeated FC Goa move to the top of the table with three wins and a draw. FC Pune City continue at the bottom of the table with one point in four games. However, the first-half strikes of Marcelinho and Alfaro will give them a glimmer of hope when they take on Kerala Blasters at home on Nov 2.
