NorthEast United sign two Croatian defenders

NorthEast United have announced the signing of two defenders from Croatia; Mato Grgić & Mislav Komorski.

Both these players arrive from NK Inter Zaprešić, a club which competes in the Croatian First Football League.

Fun fact: Inter Zaprešić are also known as  Keramičari (‘The ceramics makers’) as they were sponsored by a ceramics factory for most of their history.

Mislav Komorski is a product of the Dinamo Zagreb Academy which has produced a number of Croatian National Team stars like Luka Modrić, Vedran Ćorluka, Eduardo, Robert Prosinečki and Zvonomir Boban.

Bosnia and Herzegovina-born Mato Grgić is a 30 year old right-footed defender who has played for most of his career at NK Slaven Belupo before moving to Inter Zaprešić.

For NorthEast United FC, this should add some much needed solidity at the back; These signings coupled with the midfielder and striker signings – these could prove to be potentially great signings to kickstart their Indian Super League campaign this season.
