Brazilian midfielder Wellington Priori returns to Jamshedpur FC

Jamshedpur FC have secured the services of Brazilian midfielder Wellington Priori who returns to the club after four seasons. The 32-year-old was part of JFC when they debuted in the ISL in the 2017-18 season. He also represented Northeast United FC in the 2016 ISL.



From Sao Paulo, Priori came into prominence with Brazilian club Brasil de Farroupilha and following that played for local club São José for a season.

In January of 2014, Wellington left the shores of Brazil and over the next few years went on to play club football in Thailand, India, South Korea, Malaysia and Bangladesh.

In Thailand, he played in Thai League 1 and Thai League 2 and made over a 100 appearances. He featured prominently for Pattaya United FC and over the last two seasons with Thai League 2 club Chainat Hornbill FC.

In the ISL, he played a season each for NEUFC and Jamshedpur FC. He is remembered for his bicycle/overhead kick which he scored against Northeast United while representing Jamshedpur FC. Overall, he has made 21 appearances in the ISL and has three goals and an assist to his name.

The 6’3″ defensive midfielder also turned up briefly in the K-League for Gwangju FC besides featuring for Bangladeshi club Abahani Dhaka and Malaysian club Perlis FA.

So far in his career, he has played in a total of 145 matches at club level in which he managed to score 16 goals and assist 21.
