Here’s the makeup of the squad:

A notable exclusion to the Indian squad is experienced defender Sandesh Jhingan who was injured in a friendly against Northeast United held recently in preparation for the World Cup Qualifier. The Kerala Blasters’ man has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery which will sideline him for up to six months.

Players who were part of the national camp, but missed out on the final squad are Anwar Ali, Farukh Choudhary, Halicharan Narzary, Jerry Lalrinzuala and Nishu Kumar.

India will be looking for a win against Bangladesh after losing to Oman and drawing against Qatar in the first two matches of their FIFA World Cup ’22/AFC Asian Cup ’23 qualifying campaign.
