Arsene Wenger, the Chief of Global Football Development, FIFA had an interaction with the heads of a select group of football academies at the Football House in Delhi.
The AIFF-FIFA Academy in Bhubaneswar, launched under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, will be inaugurated on November 21 by Arsene Wenger, the Chief of Global Football Development at FIFA.
Arsène Wenger will visit India in the second week of October to finalise the setting up of a FIFA academy in India jointly with the AIFF.
Delegates from FIFA are in India for a three-day meeting with the AIFF to help inculcate the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) in the country.
The AIFF, Union Ministry for Education and FIFA have signed an MoU to broad-base football across schools in the country through the Football for Schools programme.
FIFA in partnership with AIFF and with support from GoI has launched the Football for Schools project which is aimed at broad-basing the game across the country.
