Brazilian forward Ygor Catatau joins Mumbai City FC on loan

Mumbai City FC have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Ygor Catatau who joins on a season-long loan from Brazilian club Madureira.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Ygor was part of the youth setup at local club Madureira. Starting from 2015, he represented the club in Série C, Série D and the state league in Rio – Campeonato Estadual do Rio de Janeiro.

From 2017, he was sent out on loan to Brazilian clubs Boa, Barra da Tijuca, Vasco and more recently Vitória. He featured for Boa and Vitória in the second tier Série B, Vasco Da Gama in the top-tier Brasileirão Série A (2020) and also played in cup competitions Copa Sudamericana and Copa do Brasil for these clubs.

The 26-year-old 6’0″ centre-forward’s move to India is his first stint playing football outside Brazil.

Conclusion
-By all reports, Ygor is an extremely hard working and passionate player but needs to add that finishing touch to his game. A move to Mumbai could do him very well, but let’s see whether he’ll earn a starting spot in the team anytime soon.
