Kerala Blasters have signed Croatian international and Dinamo Zagreb defender Marko Lešković on a one-year contract.
From Našice town near the city of Osijek, Leskovic spent his formative years at the academy of NK Osijek. He was promoted to the senior team which plays in the top-tier Prva HNL towards the end of 2010.
For the next decade, Marko played in the Croatian top flight with NK Osijek, HNK Rijeka, Dinamo Zagreb and last season with Lokomotiva Zagreb. His last season’s engagement with Lokomotiva was a loan deal from Dinamo.
Overall in his club career, Leskovic has featured in 220 matches in which he has scored 16 goals and assisted four. He has won the Croatian Cup twice (Rijeka and Dinamo) and the Prva HNL league twice with Dinamo Zagreb. Marko has also played in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
The 30-year-old 6’2″ centre-back has represented Croatia at youth levels and has been capped four times for the senior national team.
