Chennaiyin FC have signed defender Deepak Devrani on a one-year contract ahead of the 2021-22 ISL season. The 28-year-old center back helped Gokulam Kerala FC to the I-League title last season.

From Delhi, Deepak started his professional career with Pailan Arrows (now Indian Arrows) in 2010. He moved to Sporting Clube de Goa in 2013 and a year later was drafted into the inaugural ISL draft as part of FC Pune City. However, he did not make an appearance for Pune in the ISL.

The following season, he joined Mohun Bagan AC on loan and won the first of his three I-League titles in the 2014-15 season. In 2016, Devrani switched to Minerva Punjab and won the I-League a second time in his second season with the club.

After leaving Minerva in 2019, Deepak joined TRAU FC for a year following which he joined Gokulam Kerala FC ahead of the 2020-21 I-League and won the league with the Malabarians. He made 14 appearances for GKFC last season and contributed four assists.
