Bengaluru FC have signed Congolese international forward Prince Ibara on a two-year deal with an option to extend by another year.
Prince started his professional career with Congolese club ACNFF in 2014. Over the next three years, he played club football in Gabon, Tunisia and Qatar. In 2018, Ibara moved to Algerian club USM Alger and with nine goals from 23 appearances helped them win the top tier Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.
A season later he was on the move again – this time to K Beerschot VA who were in the Belgian Second Division then. He contributed with two assists from 12 matches as Beerschot went on to win promotion to the top tier in the 2019-20 season. During his time with the club, he was loaned out to an Azerbaijan club and later on to French Ligue 2 club Châteauroux (2020-21). He managed three goals from 13 appearances in Ligue 2 – the second tier in France.
The 25-year-old 6’3″ striker has scored 23 goals and assisted four from 91 matches in competitions across more than half a dozen countries. He also played in a Europa League qualifier during his time with Neftchi Baku in Azerbaijan. Prince made his debut for Congo in 2016 and has been capped on 12 occasions – he contributed with four goals and an assist. He joins Bengaluru FC on a free transfer from Beerschot VA.
