Northeast United FC have wrapped up a deal for 26-year-old Australian defender Dylan Fox from A-League club Central Coast Mariners.

The Northern Ireland born defender started his youth career with New South Wales-based Sutherland Sharks FC and transitioned to the first team in 2013. A few months later, Fox joined another NSW club Bonnyrigg White Eagles.

In 2015, Dylan switched to A-League side Wellington Phoenix and spent four seasons at the club in the A-League before terminating his contract due to lack of playing time. He went on to join Korean second-tier club FC Anyang in 2019. During his time with the ‘Nix, he picked up Players’ Player of the Year accolade and was runner-up to Roy Krishna for the club’s Player of the Year award in the 2017-18 season.

Post his stint with FC Anyang, the defender who can also play as a defensive midfielder moved to Central Coast Mariners last season on a one-year contract and he joins ISL side Northeast United FC from there. Fox has clocked in 50 appearances in the A-League and has a solitary goal to his credit.

Fox’s signing follows closely on the heels of another foreign addition to the back-line – Belgian defender Benjamin Lambot whose arrival was announced by the club yesterday.
