18-year-old Indian Arrows midfielder Givson Singh has joined Kerala Blasters FC on a three-year-deal ahead of ISL 7.

Born in the town of Moirang in Manipur, Givson was scouted out by Punjab FC (formerly Minerva Punjab) in 2014 following which the teenager joined their academy.

After a couple of years at the Minerva Academy, Givson found his way into the Indian National U-17 setup under coach Nicolai Adam and as a progression was put into the AIFF Elite Academy in 2016.

Singh was made part of the AIFF developmental side Indian Arrows in the 2019-20 I-League season. He made his debut in the Arrows’ first match of the campaign against Gokulam Kerala FC. Over the course of the season, Givson featured in all 16 matches the colts played and contributed with two goals and two assists.

During the league season, the versatile midfielder played as a centre forward, as a defensive midfielder, in left midfield and made sporadic appearances in other areas of the pitch.

The teenager has represented India a number of the times at the U-17 level and made his debut for the U-19 team last year against Russia.

My fascination for football started when I was a little boy and has only kept building over the years.

I’m extremely glad to be a part of Kerala Blasters, a club that belongs to an equally or more passionate state as mine for the sport.

My career has just begun and I have bigger dreams to achieve, for myself and for the team.

I’m thankful to everyone at the club for welcoming me to the yellow family and I hope to give it whatever it takes to live my dreams.
