Hyderabad FC have wrapped up a two-year deal for Kerala Blasters’ 26-year-old winger Halicharan Narzary.
Born in Kokrajhar town in Assam, Narzary represented Assam in the U-16 National Championships in Mahilpur in 2009-10 where he was scouted out and drafted into the Indian National U-16 side.
Soon, he made his way to the National U-19 side and as a consequence to the AIFF developmental side Pailan Arrows (now Indian Arrows). Halicharan scored on his I-League debut with Arrows against Salgaocar FC in the 2010-11 season.
After the Arrows were disbanded in 2013, Narzary moved to Dempo SC for a few seasons followed by another I-League side DSK Shivajians. During this period, he was also part of the FC Goa and Northeast United squads as part of the ISL draft.
In July of 2018, the Indian international moved to Kerala Blasters from where he joins Hyderabad FC. During his time with the Blasters, he was also loaned out to Chennaiyin FC for a short duration.
Over the years, the left winger has made 59 appearances in the ISL scoring twice and assisting seven. In the I-League, he has scored 10 goals in 68 appearances. Narzary made his national team debut in 2015 and has 26 caps to his credit.
I have played with quite a few of the players from the team before as well.
We have a few players from the national team among us like Adil, Nikhil and Subrata, which adds to the value of our squad.
