Bengaluru FC have wrapped up deals for Gokulam Kerala FC midfielder Wungngayam Muirang and Aizawl FC fullback Joe Zoherliana.

Wungngayam Muirang

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder from Manipur was part of the Shillong Lajong Academy before finding his way in 2017 to the FC Pune City reserves side under current Bengaluru FC assistant coach Naushad Moosa. He featured in seven matches in the 2nd Division League during that season.

A year later, Muirang joined Gokulam Kerala FC and in two seasons with the Malabarians made 11 appearances in the I-League.

Wungngayam can also play as a defender and is part of the India U-23 setup.

I’ve been in touch with coach Moosa for some time now, and when the opportunity to move to Bengaluru FC came about, I grabbed it with both hands.

He has been very influential in my career, and I hope to improve as a player among some of the best defenders in the country, at BFC.

I am sure it will be tough, but I’m ready.

Joe Zoherliana is a 21-year-old right back from Mizoram who also came up the ranks at Shillong Lajong FC. After a season at Chanmari FC, he moved to the FC Pune City reserves side in 2018.

A few months later, Joe found his way to Aizawl FC. Last season in the I-League, he made 15 appearances.

It really hasn’t sunk in yet that BFC noticed my potential and wanted to sign me.

It’s true that I had offers from a few other ISL clubs, but when you are offered a chance to join Bengaluru FC, you cannot ignore it.

I am at a stage in my career where I want to reach for the next level and I’m looking forward to that challenge
