The AIFF has announced that the Indian National Football Team will play an international friendly against Tajikistan on March 31st. The venue for the fixture will be finalised at a later date.
The last time these sides played in July of 2019 in the Intercontinental Cup, India lost 2-4 to Tajikistan. India are currently ranked 108th in the FIFA rankings while Tajikistan are 121st on the list.
Tajikistan are a respectable side in Asia and we’re looking forward to a tough challenge from them. That is going to be a great opportunity for us to assess ourselves ahead of our final two qualifiers in June.
It would be interesting to find out how much we advanced our game from our last encounter in Hero Intercontinental Cup.
The support we enjoyed in Tajikistan was quite extraordinary and we’d love to go back there once again. Let’s win it together.
