Bengaluru FC have signed 25-year old Jamaican forward Kevaughn Frater for the remainder of the season as a replacement for the injured Raphael Augusto. He joins countryman Deshorn Brown who was brought on-board during the January transfer window.

Born in Kingston, Kevaughn Frater was at the youth academy of Jamaican Premier League club Harbour View FC and eventually made it to the senior side in 2013.

He was then sent out on loan to a number of clubs in the USL Championship (USLC) – the second tier league in the United States. In January of 2019, Frater joined USLC club New Mexico United on a permanent basis from Harbour View FC.

In five seasons in the US second tier, Kevaughn has scored 30 and assisted 12 goals in 96 appearances. He has also been capped once for the Jamaican National Team after scoring 14 goals in 21 appearances in the 2018-19 season for New Mexico United.

It feels really good joining a club that’s achieved so much in its short history.

I’m looking forward to learning about my teammates, score some goals, help with the play-off push and win the title.

I’m also keen on enjoying the finer parts of the Indian culture.

With Raphael out injured, we had the option to sign another foreign player and we exercised it.

We’re hoping that Kevaughn can come in and aid us in our final push for a spot in the play-off stages and beyond.
