Mumbai City FC sign Tunisian striker Amine Chermiti

Mumbai City FC have wrapped up a deal for 31-year-old Tunisian international Amine Chermiti for the upcoming Indian Super League season.

Chermiti was part of the Tunisian club JS Kairouan’s academy between the years 2002 and 2005. He made the step up to the senior side in the 2005-06 season and moved to another Tunisian club ES Sahel in 2006.

After two season ES Sahel, the German Bundesliga club Hertha BSC signed the forward for 2.20 million euros. After a season at Hertha Berlin, Amine was loaned out to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad Club for the 2009-10 season.

The Swiss top division side FC Zürich came calling in July of 2018 and Amine penned a long term contract with the club. His 119 appearances in the Swiss Super League yielded 30 goals and 20 assists.

After leaving Zürich in January 2016, Chermiti appeared briefly for the Kuwaiti club Al-Arabi SC before moving back to ES Sahel on a free transfer.

In February 2019, Amine was on the move again and joined the Saudi Professional League club Al-Fayha FC. He didn’t score a goal in the seven appearances he made for the club and joins Mumbai City FC on a free transfer.
