Northeast United FC have signed 22-year-old Assamese fullback Rakesh Pradhan from Shillong Lajong FC for the upcoming Indian Super League season.
From the Dima Hasao district in Assam, Rakesh spent his formative years at the Shillong Lajong youth academy.
He made his debut for the senior team in the 2017-18 I-League season and ended up starting all 18 games in the league. The following season, he featured 13 times in the league for the Reds.
Possessing a strong left foot, the fullback can play on either sides of the pitch and his signing follows that of Nim Dorjee Tamang – another successful Shillong Lajong FC youth product who joined recently from FC Pune City.
