The 18-year-old Indian Arrows defender Narender Gahlot has signed a three-year deal with the ISL club, Jamshedpur FC.

A product of the Chandigarh Football Academy, Gahlot was part of the Indian U-17 National Team which participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India in 2017. His performances earned him a call up to to the AIFF developmental team, the Indian Arrows in 2018.

Although, he made only a single appearance in his first season with the Arrows, he gained the confidence of Coach Floyd Pinto and featured 11 times in the recently concluded I-League 2018-19.

The teenager was recently called up by the Indian National Team coach, Igor Stimac, to be part of the 35-man preliminary India squad for the upcoming Hero Intercontinental Cup 2019.

When this opportunity came towards me, I did not wait long to say yes to it.

I am thankful to the management for giving a young player like me the chance to showcase my talents at the biggest stage in Indian Football.

I want to visit Jamshedpur soon and make sure the fans are very proud of me.

Jam ke khelo Jamshedpur.

Narender Gahlot

Narender is one of the brightest prospects as a centre-back in India.

His recent performances have been excellent and I am sure he will be a great asset for the club going forward. He will benefit a lot from our experienced set-up at the defensive unit.

Looking forward to seeing him play for Jamshedpur FC.

Mukul Choudhari, CEO, Jamshedpur FC
