Delhi Dynamos FC have announced the signing of 20-year-old defender Gaurav Bora from FC Pune City for the upcoming ISL 2019-20 season.

Gaurav has just spent two years on loan at Chennai City FC and was a vital component in their title-winning run in the I-League 2018-19. The young defender belied his age and formed a solid partnership with the Spanish defender Roberto Eslava during the campaign.

In fact, Gaurav scored a brace in Chennai City’s last league encounter against Minerva Punjab to help the club win their first ever I-League title.

Born in Assam, Bora trained at the Bhaichung Bhutia Football School and represented Delhi at the U-16 level before joining the Pune City academy. After a stint with FC Pune City Reserves in the 2nd Division League, Gaurav was sent out on loan to Chennai City in November 2017 and has made 28 appearances for the Coimbatore-based club.

Gaurav is touted as one for the future and will be replacing the outgoing Dutch defender Gianni Zuiverloon who joined Kerala Blasters recently.
