Northeast United were in the midst of transfer activity with the league all set to resume on the 25th of January after the winter break.

Shouvik Ghosh has signed for the Highlanders from Mumbai City FC. The left-back has made three appearances for Mumbai this season. Shouvik played for Northeast United in the 2016-17 season and the club is a bit of a happy hunting ground for him. NEUFC signed him in the 2016 season after the defender was without a club following a serious ACL injury.

Northeast United have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Panagiotis Triadis from the Greek club Apollon Smyrni FC for the rest of the season. The attacking midfielder who can also play as a forward has represented Germany internationally at youth levels.

The Highlanders will resume their league campaign after the break when they take on Chennaiyin FC on the 26th of January.
